In 2005, Carmen founded New Learning Culture Consulting, followed by the NLC Institute in 2022, in support of the growing movement for child-based education. Residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, she authored three books, offers teacher education and advisory, and has spoken at child-based organizations worldwide.
