Carmen Gamper founded New Learning Culture Consulting in 2005 to support the growing movement for child-centered education.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she is the author of three books and leads educator programs, consulting, and advisory work internationally.
As an educator, director, and co-creator at several innovative schools—including Rebeca Wild–inspired schools across Europe and internationally, as well as SOS Children’s Villages summer programs—she distilled the New Learning Culture Model for child-centered education to support educators in allowing greater freedom within safe, responsive learning environments.
Her work includes speaking engagements, teacher education, and consulting with organizations such as the Mindful Education Institute, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, the California Homeschooling Conference, and the Transformative Education Forum (Chair), as well as schools and learning communities including Gazebo Park School (Esalen Institute, CA), The Jewish Montessori (Los Angeles, CA), Montessori Family School (Berkeley, CA), and Public Montessori Middle School (Italy). She has also contributed to international programs such as the Huichol Center for Cultural Survival and Traditional Arts in Mexico.
